Having practiced family law exclusively since 1998, Greg has a keen understanding of the human impact of family difficulties, including and beyond their legal issues. He has extensive experience using collaborative law and knows that, for many families, avoiding the courts in favour of coming to mutual legal agreement on matters results in the most satisfying resolution.
He is a founding member of Collaborative Practice Manitoba and has served as its Chair, a member of its Management Committee, and as a committee member. Greg is a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.
Greg is a mediator and an arbitrator, receiving his training in 2005 from the Arbitration and Mediation Institute of Manitoba. Greg is a member of both the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Manitoba and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Canada.
Greg taught the Clinical Family Law course in the Faculty of Law at the University of Manitoba from 2006 to 2019, and continues to be a frequent speaker. He has been a regular guest speaker on family law matters at the Manitoba Bar Association and the Law Society of Manitoba as well.
Greg was appointed as Queen’s counsel in 2021 by the Manitoba Government.
Greg has been named to the Best Lawyers International list for for the years 2015 through 2021 and has three times been named the Family Lawyer of the Year in 2020, 2018, and 2016.
Greg has also been named as a leading family law practitioner by Lexpert in its 2020 Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory.

Fluent in American Sign Language, Greg has served the deaf community both nationally and internationally for more than three decades. He is an American Sign Language and spoken English interpreter and interpreter instructor as well as an educator in the deaf community. In 2002, Greg received the Edward C. Bealer Award of Merit from the Association of Visual Language Interpreters of Canada for his contributions to the field of American Sign Language and Spoken English interpreting.
Greg is committed to the development of the West Broadway area, where the Evans Family Law offices are located, and sat on the West Broadway Biz Zone for six years, chairing the Board from 2018 to 2019.
